Here in town we've got EV1, but up in Big D the newest division of The Planet, ServerMatrix, has got it goin' on. "Network Overkill" as they say.

Check out the redundant backbone connections...

ServerMatrix touts their "free reboots". LOL that's so desperate.

They sell colo and hosting. That's what they do. Can you imagine them CHARGING for rebooting their servers?

That's like putting "breathes at no additional charge" on your resume.

EV1 , by the way, is over $1M actively involved in supporting IP theft and fraud. This is well documented in the press and trade journals. So are their attempts and backpeddling, spin and damage control.

I hope nobody here is supporting EV1 in their bid to subjugate the work of thousands of volunteers.

You guys, we need to vote for the business we want to participate in. Vote with our dollars and if necessary, vote with our feet. Constantly settling for the cheapest bid will build a cheap world. Is that what we really want?

Yeah EV1 spun that as hard as they could after something crazy like 80% of their customers threatened to leave.

I believe it is EV1's responsibility to make good decisions. They had access to all the facts I do. They chose to support a group of well-funded thugs exploiting the ignorance of our courts to claim properties (and money) that does not belong to them. The information is all out there. http://groklaw.net/

EV1 used their resources to cast a huge public vote legitimizing theft. In a very simple way, if you pay EV1, you cast that same vote.

I'm no self-righteous monk patronizing only the few companies whose sense of morality agrees with my own. I shop at Wal mart and own a pair of Nike shoes, for example.

However, in the case of SCO/EV1 versus the American Right to Invent and Control Copyright, I feel strongly that apathy is the wrong response.
