I fail to see the value in 25 free .info names unless you are a spammer or a search engine abuser.

Not sure, but probably not.
I keep seeing these different offers for a bucketload of free .info domains.
The catch seems to be that you must re-register the domain names with the company after a year, or let them expire.
Pretty good trick. Surely someone will get a site going on one of these domains, and want to extend the lease... kaching!

No scam just need a valid credit card to validate your idenity and you get the domain for a year. by default no automatic renewal and nothing is charged to your card.
I grabed my 25 got some good ones too (that is for an .info domain).
Granted I most likely will only keep about 8 of them after next year but I a hole year to do something with them.
