Okay, avatars make a community much more personal, so let's all pick one!  Right now I am using an avatar one of the members of my forums designed for me (thank you digitalink!). Usually I make it really personal and use my photo. This also helps ensure that all the friends I make online stay online, and no one asks me to meet them in real life. It also decreases the chances of a successful assault mission on my life.
