Finding good web hosting deals

Just wanted to see how some of you find good deals on web hosting. I have included a poll with this thread to see if anyone has used any of these methods to find a web hosting deal.
Here are the methods that I have found to find some pretty good web hosting deals:
1. Search for deals - Just go to Google (or any search engine) and search for "web hosting rebates", "web hosting deals", and "web hosting coupons". Then you just need to select one of the deals with a web host that offers the features that you need.
2. Search for deals for a specific web host - If you have already selected your web host, then search for "[i]webhost[i] rebate", "[i]webhost[i] deal", and "[i]webhost[i] coupon". Just make sure that you do this before you sign up to take advantage of these deals.
3. Browse offers in hosting forums - The offers sections of many web hosting forums have lots of hosts offe... |

Considerations before Purchasing a Domain Name

| To have your own website you must have a unique domain name. Thousand of domain name is being reserved everyday. So you may not get your desired domain name free that usually occurs. In case of such situation you have to choose the alternate domain name nearly relevant to you fist choice. you may use "-" between two words. Or there are many extension such as .net,.info etc available you may choose the best one that suits you best. There are many site online that provide that provide free domain name if you purchase hosting from them and offers many special offer. You may also visit their services and then take final decision. |

Choosing windows or Linux server

| At the time of purchasing a hosting as first you have to choose the platform of the hosting like Windows and Linux. Generally Linux Hosting is far cheaper then Windows. but this is completely dependent on your website development if your site is built using ASP then you have to choose windows server and using PHP then you have to choose Linux server. Many windows server supports Linux also for this you have to read their manual or package includes. |

| To upload your site after designing it is very important to purchase a reliable hosting package. Selecting hosting packages completely depends on the type of your site. You should have a hosting package at least few MB more then your total size of the website. If it is portal website or job site or any thing like this you must have higher bandwidth and above 99% uptime because it is not you may loose many important visitor or visitors may not find interest in your site to visit. |

Changing your DNS??

Ok whenever I want a domain, I usually buy the whole package.  But now its becoming quite expensive. lol And its because I don't know how to update the DNS servers (?) I think thats right. I would like to buy just a domain. Does anyone have a step by step tutorial on how to do so? |
